Ultrasonic thickness testing is a non-destructive test method conducted using an ultrasonic thickness gauge to identify the total dry film thickness of an installed liquid waterproofing membrane. This test provides the data needed to verify a waterproofing system has been applied to the manufacturer’s installation specification and assess the overall performance of the membrane installation.
Waterproof Awareness technicians use calibrated gauges on waterproof coatings in accordance with ASTM D6132 – 13(2017) – Standard Test Method for Nondestructive Measurement of Dry Film Thickness of Applied Organic Coatings Using a Positector 200D Gauge. The thickness readings are captured and recorded by measuring membrane coating. You will be provided with a detailed report of the findings.
We recommend coupling the Ultrasonic thickness testing with a compliance test for the best results.
